For liquid analysis, the sensors are frequently mounted in either a flow or an immersion fitting. The flow fittings are used for installation of the sensors in sample by-pass lines. This makes maintenance easy without having to interrupt the main process stream. The subassemblies simplifies mounting of the sensors direct into process lines or vessels. This is particularly important where sample lines give problems, for instance with settling slurries.
